EMDE market share of on-road vehicles* is approximately 19% global total but greater policy support is needed to support the BEV transition Emerging Markets and Developing Economies (EMDE) market share of on-road vehicles (excluding 2-3 wheelers) is approximately 19% global total. This represents a decarbonization opportunity of 4,739m tons CO2e per annum by 2050. The global EMDE target is 1,157m tons CO2e per annum by 2050.
