Global Overview of C&I & Residential Yearly Installation Trends While C&I and residential new installations are growing rapidly in absolute terms, their relative share has plummeted over the past five years. Both shares dropped to single digits in GW and GWh terms in 2025. More mature technologies and investor confidence have driven utility-scale projects to dominate with over 80% of global new installed capacity in 2025.
