Solid-state Batteries Dominate 2025 Research With Continued Focus On Key Cathode And Anode Materials And Strong Leadership From China

Strong growth of publications for Solid-State Batteries (SSB) which dominates Li-ion research. Balanced activity across cathode and anode chemistries: LFP and NMC remain the most studied cathode materials, while lithium metal and silicon-based anodes drive innovation toward next-generation Li-ion cells. Regional specialization in research: China leads by volume, dominantly on lithium metal phosphates, while Europe, the USA, India, and South Korea show a balanced interest between Lithium metal phosphate and Lithium metal oxide chemistries, reflecting diverse industrial strategies.
