Tailoring Polymer Electrolyte Solvation for 600 Wh kg –1 Lithium Batteries Electrolyte Feature: the polymer electrolyte creates an anion-derived F-rich CEI/SEI to protect the lithium-rich metal oxide cathode by suppressing surface oxygen escape, structural transitions, and electrolyte decomposition Electrochemical Performance: this quasi-solid-state polymer demonstrates a reversible high-areal-capacity cycling in pouch cells. The pouch cells exhibit an energy density of 604 Wh kg–1 and excellent safety under a nail penetration at a fully charged condition

ELECTROCHEMICAL PERFORMANCE

F-BASED ELECTROLYTE

The strong coordination between Li+ and ether oxygen generates anion-deficient solvation, whereas the poor oxidation stability of PE polymer electrolytes causes interfacial decomposition

The assembled lithium-rich metal oxide-based lithium metal batteries delivered a high initial CE of 91.8% at 0.05 C and charge/discharge reversibility (CE = 99.7%) at 1.0 C after more than 200 cycles at 25 °C
