Patenting activity is dominated by applications in China and well-known Asian battery and car manufacturers. Top 3 of 2025 patent applicants (Samsung, LGES, Toyota) hold about 12% of 2025 patent families. General Motors is the sole non-asian company among main 2025 patent applicants.
